The redevelopment works begin Durante square. The intervention was entirely financed with PNRR funds as part of the creation of the new cycle path that will connect the Central Station to the University of Palermo in the future.

This morning, the workers of the Municipality of Palermo began placing road signs to indicate the construction site. Present the engineer Adriano Di Francisca and the city councilor Dario Chinnici. Costs, timing and traffic restrictions on Piazza Durante
As mentioned above, the interventions will be entirely financed with PNRR funds. The figure corresponds to 25% of the total sums invested to create the cycle path (2.3 million euros). According to the project wanted by the councilor Maurizio Cartawithin the area in question agreen area, some parking areas and an area equipped for children to play. The question arises spontaneously. When will the work be finished? The answer is Dario Chinnici himself.
“The work should be completed by the beginning of autumn. We need to redevelop this area, creating services for residents and citizens who go to these areas to use the various services. It is an area that will be gently reconverted, as will the mobility that will pass through here.” During this period, some parking bans will be in force on Piazza Durante with forced removal 0-24 to allow the construction site to proceed. There may be some inconveniences, but the Administration’s intent is to reduce them to the bare minimum.
