Milan-Sanremo cycle tourism, on Sunday we race on the roads of the spring classic

It’s time for Milan-Sanremo cycle tourismwhich runs Sunday 9 June 2024. It will be there 53rd editionwill start from the gates of the metropolis and will take place over the distance of 308 kilometers. It’s a non-competitive eventa, there are no rankings, although each competitor’s time will be timed. The participation of cycle amateurs and cycle tourists from various European countries and also from other continents is expected.

In the first two thirds the route is not the same as the professional Milan-Sanremo, but once you reach the Ligurian coast the roads to travel and the elevation changes will be the same. The start flag will lower to Set it (Hotel Ibis Style, via delle Industrie), a large center in the eastern hinterland of Milan. The amateur Sanremo must be completed in a maximum of 12 hours. We leave at 3:00 pm 7.00 for grids spaced 10 minutes apart, each consisting of 200 participants.

The first 38 kilometers of the route will unfold on a different route from that of the classic itinerary of the Milan-Sanremo World Tour, with passages from Melegnano And Vidigulf. TO PaviaInstead, the caravan will enter the SS35 and up to km 107 the route will be the same as the Classicissima.

Shortly after leaving Lombardy and entering Piedmont, the participants will turn, a Novi Liguretowards Acqui Terme And Sassello. The Apennines will therefore not be crossed through the legendary Turchino Pass, but from nearby Colle del Giovo. The descent that leads to Ligurian Riviera will end ad Albissola (km 198). From there there will be about a hundred kilometers to the finish line in Sanremo. All on the same path as the Classicissima.

After a long stretch without any altitude difficulties, from Savona to Alassiowill have to be addressed i three heads (Mele, Cervo and Berta), then surpassed Imperiafrom San Lorenzo al Mare you will climb the Cypress (Costarainera) and, shortly after Poggio. The well-rotated steep descent will bring the group back to the historic Via Aureliaon which you will have to tackle the last two kilometers leading to the finish line.

Online registrations for the Milan-Sanremo cycling tour (Granfondo Milano Sanremo 2024 | MILAN SANREMO 2024 | AMATEUR MILANO SANREMO | OFFICIAL SITE) are closed. They will reopen on Sunday morning, before departure. The participation fee will be 100 eurosincluding the race pack, the number for the chassis, the intermediate supplies, the broom service, the pasta party (Villa Ormond, ending at 7.30 pm) and the showers.
