The journalist Franco Ordine commented on the Milan transfer market and the moves to be made during next summer
The journalist Franco Ordine spoke to Radio Rossoneri of the AC Milan transfer market. He declared on the renewals: “I asked to have a reliable figure on the various redemptions. I was told it should be between 40 and 44 million”.
On the new striker: “In these times of uncomplicated negotiations, reading more or less informed sites, it seems to me that there isn’t even one. In my opinion we will have to wait for the official announcement from Fonseca as coach, then they will have to hurry to resolve a couple of deadlines. One concerns Theo and Maignan’s contracts, and then the completion of last year’s transfer window. This will be the theme: after the revolution of last summer, they have to move few pawns but to the right place and time”.
On the timing for signing the attacker: “I make a down-to-earth, almost elementary reasoning. You Milan knew very well that there would be a separation at the end of the season, however painful it was due to the performance above expectations, with Giroud. So, in my opinion, you had to move in time and plant some props somewhere to secure a center forward who wouldn’t make you regret it. If it was done, great. Otherwise, the theory according to which at the end of the transfer market those who have excess players are forced to get rid of them at the sale price, in my opinion in this case, and therefore guarantee a prospective center forward, is an outdated reasoning”.
