L’University of Insubria is among the partner of the eleventh edition of the running event “Between villas and gardens”promoted by the association Runners Varese and scheduled Friday 14 June in Varese: an evening race among the jewels of the Garden City open to everyone, athletes and non-athletes, starting at 8pm from the Estensi Gardens.

The University logo it will appear on the shirts, water bottles and kits of the competitive race of approximately 11.8 km, included in the Fidal calendar, which will be accompanied by a non-competitive race of approximately 7.8 km for amateurs.

As per tradition, the event has a charitable theme and purpose: this year the objective is raise awareness among participants about nutrition and eating disordersDNA, which represent a public health problem due to the growing incidence of these symptoms in the youth population, the lowering of the age of onset and the 36% increase in cases during the Covid 19 pandemic.

The University of Insubria is included in the program of the event with the conference “Nutrition and eating disorders (DNA). The point on treatment paths and new opportunities”hosted Wednesday 12 June at 9.00 pm at the Salone Estense of Varese and organized by the Department of Medicine and technological innovation directed by the professor Giulio Carcanowho will bring greetings to the evening with the mayor of Varese Davide Galimberti and the president of the Lombardy Region Health Commission Emanuele Monti.

The conference will be moderated by Marina Protasoniassociate professor of Human Anatomy, and will open with the intervention of Eugenia Dozioclinical dietician at Dimit and scientific coordinator of Villa Miralago, who will talk about “When food becomes the enemy: nutrition and eating disorders”.

The topic will then be addressed in a round table with: Camilla Callegaridirector of the School of Specialization in Psychiatry of Insubria, director of the Department of Mental Health and Addictions, Asst Sette Laghi; Tiziana Carigimedical director of Child Neuropsychiatry, Asst Sette Laghi; Eugenia Trottipsychotherapist doctor, adjunct professor of clinical psychology, Dimit; Rina G. Russopsychiatrist, health director of Villa Miralago; Erika Minazzipsychoanalyst president of Jonas Varese, Spic professor.

Also participating will be: Nicola Mandrisipresident of Runner Varese; Giorgio Brugopresident of Lions Varese Host; Alberto Pozzolipresident of the Ananke Foundation; Cinzia Fumagallipresident of the Ananke Family Foundation; Marilisa Luinettipresident of Ilfilolilla.

Varese Runners will allocate the proceeds from the event to Ilfilolilla, Ananke Family, Ananke Foundation and Jonas Varese which have as their main purpose prevention, study and research in the field of DNA; You can also contribute to the cause by purchasing a special “gadget” t-shirt.

Registrations are already open and close the evening before the races or upon reaching a maximum of 350 participants for the competitive race and 400 for the non-competitive one.
