Varese writes history at the Coni Trophy by taking third place, Pedoja: “It’s all thanks to the boys”

Huge satisfaction with the province of Varese who achieved a great result at the Coni Trophy disputed at Victoria Park Of Brembate closing at third place with one of the three teams registered in the event reserved for provincial committees (21st and 25th place for the other two quartets).

Under a splendid sun which, right from the course trials and the technical meeting, served as a backdrop for the 29 competing teams, the athletes present battled starting with the preliminary heats: Varese1 immediately qualified for the quarter-finals thanks to the sumptuous performances of Ludovica Pedoja (women’s G4), Federico Forlani And Tommaso Gamba (Men’s G5) e Leonardo Prataviera (Men’s G6). Varese2 And Varese3 they entered the recovery phase without however managing to qualify, thus entering the finals for 21/24th place and 25/29th place respectively: riding for Varese2 Ludovica Guidotti (women’s G4), Luca Baroffio And Federico Palladino (Men’s G4) e Davide Racca (men’s G5), while for Varese3 Davide Varoli And Nathan Lazzerini (Men’s G4), Emma Zaupa (women’s G6) e Matteo Colombo (Men’s G6).

The march of Varese1 does not stop at the quarterfinals given that the bikers from Varese, thanks to three perfect tests made of determination, desire and concentration, pass one round after another arriving in final against the selections of Bergamo, Monza and Brescia. The last act is a crescendo of emotions that brings Varese to the podium behind Bergamo and Monza, thus hitting the best result ever in this competition. The joy of the kids, technicians and parents who indulged in the celebration with cakes and drinks to also celebrate Captain Leonardo Prataviera’s birthday was inevitable.

Sunday was a beautiful day full of emotions and teachingsexplains coach Thomas Pedojawhich, thanks to desire and determination, brought the fruits we expected: work always pays off. I want to say a big thank you to my shoulder in this period of preparations Fabio Forlani of Team Equilibrio MTB School, to Mauro Cumerlato of MTB Ju Green and to the provincial manager Luca Calderara for the opportunity he gave me in training and following the quartets“.

Right on the quartets, Pedoja has nice words for each of his boys: “Varese1 is a group assembled to do well, being our leading team in the relay teams for the Varese committee. Ludovica “Ludo” aged 10, Valceresio Bike athlete who has many victories and beautiful performances to her credit; Federico “Dede” is a rocket, an 11 year old boy who plays at the Equilibrio MTB School and has dominated the G5 category throughout the region and beyond; Tommaso “Tommy” 11 year old Valceresio Bike athlete, silent but spirited boy capable of excellent performances; Leonardo “Leo” is the captain of the quartet, a 12-year-old athlete of the Valceresio Bike, the red and white train that gives tranquility and security to all his companions. Varese2 is a very young team with many G4 guys who need to gain experience, while Varese3 is a team completely made up of Ju Green athletes who, unfortunately, have had a lot of bad luck in the various races due to falls and mechanical problems“.

The overall balance, however, is to be praised and Pedoja does not fail to do so: “In two years we achieved a fourth and a third place under my guidance and that of Forlani: two years of a lot of work, but also of successes, the result of the commitment of the boys who applied themselves with dedication to this specialty to bring home a historic result for Varese. Congratulations to everyone and let’s continue like this“.
