Theater and AI, success in Rome for the Torriani show

CREMONA – Theater and Artificial Intelligence: that is, the furthest from each other. Yet at Torriani the ‘opposites’ coexist if we consider theater as a body and AI as something immaterial. All this was possible thanks to the Torriani Theater Group which staged IA. WAVE protocol Opportunities not equally distributeda show presented at Notte del Torriani and landed in Rome, at the Arcobaleno theatre, as part of the Otis Festival where «theatre and school merge into a single network transforming creativity into flight: this is the slogan of this adventure that began 16 years ago on the initiative of Maria Rosaria Lo Monaco – she explains Josita Bassanicontact person for the network, supported by Chiara Beccari laboratory teacher and director Andrea Rossetti —. Otis is a network of schools that undertake theatrical courses, sharing experiences in the name of sharing.”

The exhibition which was held in recent days in Rome, but it was not a simple exhibition of school theatres, «was a sharing of happiness, as the organizers underlined – Bassani always explains -.
The Network, on the initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has now expanded to all Italian schools abroad and therefore Otis is a project with high pedagogical value which crosses continents thanks to theatre. This year the theme indicated to the network of participating schools was sustainability and the objectives of the 2030 agenda”.

The Torriani joined by proposing the theme of gender equality: «It was a success – Beccari and Rossetti say -: ours was the only school that received the request for an encore. And we understand it: the text, particularly intelligent and ironic as well as profound, sparked fun at the Arcobaleno. There was much laughter and applause during the performance. Trained, confident and happy actors: this is what reached the public who wanted to see an extract of the work again.”

The show was the result of the Torriani Academy laboratory which saw director Andrea Rossetti direct the student actors and share the story of the play entirely written by the children who were able to address gender equality with intelligence and surprising the spectators with a suspended ending that entertained and made them reflect.

Receiving well-deserved applause were: Selene Bramati, Alessandro Palumbo, Giorgio Salti, Simone Barili, Jasleen Kaur, Giovanni Schiavo, Matteo Testi, Ludovica Tosca, Keigo Sakamoto, Giorgia Galli, Gaia Gennari, Riccardo Scimenes, Simone Tussi, Diego Rossetti, Eva Siboni, Ester Zucchetti, Riccardo Feraboli , Tommaso Ferranti.
