04.06.2024 – 12.03 – Interviews and meetings between traders, male and female dancers are currently being carried out. The result of this exchange will be performances that will inhabit the historic centers of Udine and Venzone

Udine and Venzone
From the meeting between the Compagnia Arearea and the historic venues of Udine and Venzone was born “Creative, Local, Dance!”: the new urban and itinerant project, curated by Areaarea, is taking shape in recent days through the creation of interviews and first meetings between traders, male and female dancers. An initiative financed by the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia and created in partnership with Osteria Alla Ghiacciaia, Cas’Aupa, Pro Loco Pro Venzone, Mass Media and the Constraint ETS association.

Urban performances
From the creative and performative reworking of this exchange and from the comparison on the practices and biographies of each participating venue (including osteria alla Ghiacciaia, OfficineLamour, Angels Home, osteria Pieri Mortadele, Marcolini Calzature) urban performances will be born which will unfold along the streets of centers of Udine and Venzone on the occasion of the 15th edition AreaDanza_Urban Dance Festival. The performances of “Creative, Local, Dance!” (all with free admission) are scheduled, in particular, Sunday 23 June, in Venzone, from 10 to 11.30; And Saturday 6 July, in Udine, from 10 to 11.30. Furthermore, Tuesday 2 Julyagain in the Friulian capital, at 6.30 pm, the presentation is scheduled at the Tina Modotti Gallery.

With this initiative, the synergy between dance and craftsmanship will become a source of inspiration for artists, communicative innovation for artisans and traders and an extravagant tourist opportunity for the municipalities involved: “The objective is to raise awareness and bring the public closer to the performing arts as a practice of narrating urban and city places and the historical-productive richness of local companies – he explained Marta Bevilacqua artistic director of the Company, together with Roberto Cocconi -. How we can talk about a long-lived and artisanal profession becomes the beating heart of our project, with a view to valorising the spaces of the city center in a cultural and artistic key”.
