Aversa (Caserta) – The centre-left coalition that supports Mauro Baldascino returns to the criticism leveled against mayoral candidate Franco Matacena on the grounds that he “lied” about his public roles. For his part, Matacena threatened a lawsuit, clarifying: “I have never said that I have not held positions as a public administrator (in the past he was technical councilor in Casal di Principe, ed.) but that I have never been involved in politics and that I have not never a candidate.”

“Ours – they reply from the centre-left – was and remains a political criticism and has nothing personal or offensive about it. We are sorry that Matacena responds by raising the tone, fearing the possibility of a lawsuit”. For the centre-left, however, “his reaction does not deny the contents of our criticisms. In fact, we argued that in the public meeting Matacena did not claim and instead omitted having had other political experiences such as having been part of the Casal di Principe council, which is a political and administrative experience. And in fact Matacena did not mention that experience in our discussion.”

“We underlined – continue from the centre-left – that that council was led by Forza Italia when Berlusconi’s party was under the hegemony of Cosentino. And in fact the mayor was from Forza Italia. We said that even the coalition he leads today always has within it important pieces of Forza Italia and the city centre-right cloaked in civility. And in fact it is like this.”
