Verstappen wins the Spanish GP, Leclerc 5th and Sainz 6th

BARCELONA (SPAIN) (ITALPRESS) – Max Verstappen wins and makes it seven in the season, who even with a non-dominant Red Bull as often happened in the past crosses the finish line ahead of everyone in the Spanish Grand Prix. Third success in the last four races for the Dutch champion, who after a brawling start with the McLaren of Lando Norris – Saturday’s poleman and second at the checkered flag – overtook the momentary leader George Russell in the first laps, thus maintaining the advantage acquired throughout the race. Third place for Lewis Hamilton’s Mercedes, followed by Russell in fourth position, with the latter who, despite the great sprint at the start, was unable to keep up enough pace to finish on the podium. Anonymity and positions maintained compared to the start for Ferrari, with Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz fifth and sixth respectively, penalized by an uninspiring qualifying, as well as a non-functional strategy and tire management during the race. The other McLaren of Oscar Piastri follows in seventh place, with a disappointing Sergio Perez, eighth in his Red Bull, while the top ten closes and valuable points go to the Alpines of Pierre Gasly (ninth) and Esteban Ocon (tenth). – Photo Ipa Agency – (ITALPRESS).
