The meetings with the candidates for Mayor of Lecce organized by the Order of Architects PPeC of the province of Lecce end today, June 4th.
Objective: to listen to the proposals of the candidates for mayor and of the different parties regarding urban planning and transformation, encouraging a participatory discussion with the candidates so that the vision of the city that animates each of the proposals in the field clearly emerges.
After the comparisons with Adriana Poli Bortone, Alberto Siculella, Carlo Salvemini, tomorrow at 12.30 it will be Agostino Ciucci’s turn.
Topics of the discussion, introduced and coordinated by the President of the Order Tommaso Marcucci: new General Urban Plan and transformation processes of the city; reorganization/integration of the municipal offices responsible for governing urban transformations; integration of urban functions and the service system starting from the drivers considered strategic; sustainability, accessibility, inclusiveness, green system; future of the coastal system; role of architecture in the processes of regeneration and transformation, planning, protection and enhancement of the landscape; centrality of design competitions.
“We organized these four moments of discussion”, says Tommaso Marcucci, president of the Order, “in response to the requests received from the candidates themselves to listen to our point of view on urban transformations and on the role of planning tools in territorial government processes , and to reiterate on our part the relevant and decisive contribution that our professional community can guarantee in generating quality, sustainability, inclusiveness and beauty. This is the reason why we indicate to all the Candidates the need for a permanent table for the development of a shared method capable of bringing together all the subjects and skills involved in the processes of transformation of the territory, so as to guarantee quality, protection, valorisation, clarity on the interpretation of the rules, on the responsibilities, functions and roles of each person, in a delicate and complex process where the ultimate objective is the common good”.
