TARANTO – Abuse of his partner and even the threat of marrying his newborn daughter to a man from Morocco. The story comes from Taranto: the protagonists are a 37-year-old man of Moroccan origins and a 44-year-old woman in a small village in the Tarantino area. The two met in 2016 in a bar where the man worked: in that same place, a friend of the 44-year-old was also employed and it was this common friendship that made them meet.
The relationship lasted about a year and a half, during which the 37-year-old often repeated that he needed to marry an Italian citizen to obtain citizenship. «She told me – the woman told the magistrates – that she had done it with me. immediately afterwards she would proceed to ask for the dissolution of our marriage.” The marriage, however, does not come: from their relationship, on the contrary, a little girl is born.
«Immediately – the woman revealed – he accused me of having deceived him and framed him: he also offered me money to have an abortion, but I had the strength to carry on with the pregnancy also because I am Catholic. After having expressed this intention of mine to him, she confided to me that she had some bad acquaintances thanks to whom she would kill me.” Her fear forced the woman to end relations with the 37-year-old after inventing a lie: she in fact told the man that she had terminated her pregnancy. At that point, however, the fear only changed form: «The pregnancy immediately had problems also due to my intense state of anxiety due to the threats received and above all due to the harm he could have done to me if he had realized that I had continued the pregnancy ».
And so in the end the woman tells the truth, receiving “all kinds of insults” and threats…
