Crash in Viale dei Mille in the night between Saturday and Sunday: the driver was not wearing his seat belt and was speeding at a crazy speed. The man, a 34-year-old, is now in serious condition in the intensive care unit at Parma hospital: the prognosis is reserved, but the conditions are said to be stable.

At first, the man was taken to the Santa Maria Nuova hospital in Reggio, but shortly afterwards, given his condition, judged to be very serious, it was decided to transfer him to the Maggiore.

From the first reconstructions, that night, a few minutes before 3.30 am, the 34-year-old was traveling in his SUV at a very high speed on the avenue (120-150 kilometers per hour) when, at the traffic light intersection with Viale Timavo, he crashed into the wall of a fence, at a driveway. Not having worn his seat belt, in the terrible crash his head smashed through the windshield and, as a result of the very violent impact, he was thrown onto the nearby seat, the front passenger seat.

A police car was nearby at that moment and this allowed rapid intervention by the paramedics and firefighters. The scene that confronted the rescuers was very serious: the man had in fact remained stuck between the sheets of metal and the intervention of the firefighters was necessary to free him. The investigation into the accident is in the hands of the state police.

The woman hit on the same night in Cella, along Via Emilia, in the stretch that takes the name of Via Vico, is also in serious condition. In recent days there have been many accidents that have occurred on the roads of Reggio and its province.
