Chemical City, evacuation within a kilometer to transfer war material to Civitavecchia

RONCIGLIONE – The evacuation of the area around the Chemical City of Lake Vico begins today. Since six this morning, some farmhouses and restaurants in the area have been evacuated, falling within a radius of one kilometer from the point of discovery of some drums containing presumably chemical material used for war and military purposes during the Second World War.
It had been found during the reclamation works underway since March 18th and specifically on May 7th. The operations, entrusted to the Demilitarization and Reclamation Service of Cetli NBC, will take place from 8am this morning (4 June) until 8pm.
The red zone will not be accessible to anyone. The provincial Valle di Vico and the provincial Longinotti will not be accessible. Upon completion of the operations, an official communication from the Municipality of Ronciglione will follow.
