PESARO – Two years after the first visit, immediately after the magnificent restoration, Palazzo Perticari Signoretti yesterday officially opened its doors to citizens with a double ceremony.

Double Ceremony

The first part took place at Palazzo Montani Antaldi with the conference coordinated by Professor Riccardo Paolo Uguccioni and Anna Maria Ambrosini Massari, full professor at the University of Urbino, author of a publication on Costanza Monti, wife of Giulio Perticari, protagonist in the Pesaro of early 19th century, today a symbol of female emancipation. We also wanted to celebrate Costanza’s presence in the volume “le vie delle donne 2 – new stories of great Italian women” written by the journalist Salvatore Giannella and Gaetano Gramaglia, recognized in 2023 as an “enlightened man” by the States General of Women. The project conceived by Franco Signoretti is aimed at preserving and enhancing the historical legacy of Palazzo Perticari, offering an extraordinary environment to explore art, culture and knowledge, with the aim of inspiring present and future generations. The aspiration is to become an authentic crossroads for art scholars from all over the world. «This whole thing doesn’t belong to me alone», began Signoretti, «because I immediately had the desire to share it with the community. When they stop me on the street to compliment this restoration I am embarrassed: I would never have imagined that this thing would be so engaging for the whole city and therefore I really understood that it is the right direction. In the future we will see that we can all have fun together.”

The first floor is set up

After the 2022 inauguration, steps were taken to set up the first floor (dedicated to Costanza Monti) with works of art which in this first step are part of Signoretti’s collection, but in the future may host other exhibitions: «a way to contribute to the fervent cultural activity of this city – continued Signoretti -, as well as for the art library (with 50 thousand volumes) which is attracting the curiosity of various scholars”. Signoretti then thanked those who supported him on this journey: from Anna Maria Ambrosini Massari, Maria Maddalena Paolini curator of the Art Library who then exceptionally acted as a guide inside Palazzo Perticari Signoretti, with its art collections , its book heritage, its aims and future projects, and Valneo Budai for its contribution in the immense work of research, selection and collection of specialist art texts. The surprise was also discovering that in one of the frescoed rooms, it will be possible to get married: one wedding per month and the first “yes” will be on June 22nd. The guided tour of the exhibition rooms of the Palace then illustrated how, in the context of the pictorial decorations of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, the artistic collections of Italian painting between the 15th and 18th centuries by Franco Signoretti unfold, accompanied by the ceramics of the most important Italian manufacturers of the second half of the 19th century. Scheduled visits are organized until September 28th with free entry. Reservations https://palazzoperticari.it/categoria-eventi/eventi-in-programma/
