The summer Sunday races which will take place on 16, 23 and 30 June and 7 July have been presented. Casentino and Valdichiana also served on Sundays: additional support also for tourist flows
Arezzo. Summer 2024 will be dedicated to trains, thanks to the new services offered by the La Ferroviaria Italiana Group. For four Sundays, 16, 23 and 30 June and 7 July, but with the expectation of further increasing the service, it will be possible to reach the Casentino and Valdichiana thanks to the increase in trips from Arezzo to Stia and from Arezzo to Sinalunga carried out from the Tuscan Railway Transport trains. Bernardo Mennini, president of the LFI group and Maurizio Seri, sole director of Trasporto Ferroviario Toscano Spa presented the new services this morning, Monday 3 June, in the Arezzo Pescaiola station. Present at the press conference were the mayors and representatives of the municipal administrations of: Arezzo, Bibbiena, Chiusi della Verna, Civitella in Valdichiana, Foiano della Chiana, Lucignano, Pratovecchio Stia, Capolona, the trade union representatives and the regional councilors of the area.
Valdichiana and Casentino within reach by train, even on Sundays. The two lines, managed by the LFI Group, are active all year round from Monday to Saturday, with significant numbers exceeding 3500 passengers per day. A trend that remains high even in the warmer months, so much so that we are aiming to strengthen the routes with the inclusion of the Sunday service.
Timetables to and from Casentino. Starting from June 16th, the train will depart from Stia at 2.25pm, arriving in Arezzo at 3.29pm and will depart from Arezzo at 3.39pm, arriving in Stia at 4.40pm. The second race is scheduled from Stia at 4.50pm with arrival in Arezzo at 5.57pm, while from Arezzo at 7.15pm and arrival in Stia at 8.22pm.
Timetables to and from Valdichiana. The first train will leave from Sinalunga at 2.18pm with arrival in Arezzo at 3.04pm, while from Arezzo the first train leaves at 3.40pm with arrival in Sinalunga at 4.26pm. The second race leaves from Sinalunga at 4.36pm, arriving in Arezzo at 5.21pm and from Arezzo at 7.32pm and arriving in Sinalunga at 8.18pm.

Trains are increasingly protagonists. “When the railway service is invested in and strengthened – underlines Maurizio Seri – it is always good news, because rail transport means a push towards innovation and development of a mobility with less impact on the territory, capable of connecting more and more and better the our innermost centers and decongesting traffic on the roads. From this point of view, TFT trains represent the best solution to increasingly increase rail transport thanks to their characteristics which make them particularly suitable for satisfying different types of travellers: from commuters to tourists. We do this with the utmost attention in terms of safety for travelers and our staff through vigilance on board the train and from today also by reserving seats, near the driver’s cab, for our female users”.
Extra attention for women. Safety on trains has always been a priority of the LFI Group. With this in mind, 16 seats reserved for women were selected inside the carriages near the driving cab so as to have direct contact with the traveling staff.
Look already turned to Christmas. The novelty of the summer trains also arises, in part, from the challenge of special trains towards the City of Christmas. A successful bet that will also be repeated for Christmas 2024 with trains on both the Valdichiana and Casentino lines. The dates on which the special trains will be activated have already been identified: 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29 December.
