Set up and managed by the Teramo Association ‘Petrini’, the reception and filter desk was furnished with the contribution of ‘Donazione Alessandro Di Francesco’
TERAMO – The Ail reception desk is operational at the entrance to the simple operational unit of Hematology of Mazzini
Teramo ‘Graziano Petrini’, Italian Association against leukemia-lymphoma and myeloma. The reception desk is active every morning from Monday to Friday and is managed by Maria Di Filippo, organizational manager of Ail Teramowhich operates in direct connection with Hematology which is part of the complex Internal Medicine Unit, directed by Francesco Delle Monache.
The help desk welcomes patients and family members and absorbs a load of tasks, including bureaucratic ones, which would otherwise have fallen, as has happened so far, on the doctors and staff of the department. This allows the structure to optimize its activities and
be able to focus on the needs and requirements of individual patients.
The creation of the desk was possible thanks to an Ail project Teramo shared with the local health authority. To activate the reception service, it was also necessary to physically create the desk, where Ail staff physically work, together with the volunteers. Everything was made possible by the ‘Alessandro Di Francesco Donation’, to whose memory an Ail Memorial is dedicated Teramo. The ‘Di Francesco Donation’ also allowed Ail to allocate to the Hematology department: 3 computers, 3 monitors, 4 printers, 3 webcams, 4 chemotherapy chairs and a subscription to the magazine Linfomi.
