ROVIGO – The prestigious setting of the Teatro Sociale of Rovigo hosted the concert celebrating the 78th anniversary of the foundation of the Republic on the afternoon of Sunday 2 June.
The event, promoted by the Prefecture of Rovigo, was made possible thanks to the collaboration of the Municipality of Rovigo and the Cassa di Risparmio di Padova e Rovigo Foundation.
The concert was an opportunity to celebrate the Republic (after the morning ceremony READ ARTICLE) through the performance of a selection of the most beautiful and best-known pieces of the Italian opera tradition, an expression of one of our great national heritages, together with some pieces by foreign authors.
The pieces were performed by the “I Filarmonici Veneti” symphony orchestra and the “Coro Lirico del Veneto”, directed by maestro Massimo Santaniello, with the participation of exceptional singers: the tenor Celso Albelo, the soprano Marily Santoro and the mezzo-soprano Victoria Pitts, thanks also to whom the public success that accompanied the initiative was ensured.
Present in the packed room were the main institutional and civil society representatives of the Province and beyond, including the Senator Bartolomeo Amideithe Honorable Piergiorgio Cortelazzothe regional councilor Cristiano Corazzari, the President of the Province Enrico Ferraresethe Extraordinary Commissioner of the Municipality of Rovigo Gianfranco Tomaothe Vice President and the General Secretary of the Cariparo Foundation Giuseppe Toffoli And Roberto Sarothe Mayors of the Municipalities, the Public Prosecutor Manuela Fasolato, the provincial leaders of the Police Forces, the Fire Brigade and the local Civil Protection and Public Rescue system, of the Polesana Ulss 5 and of the public offices of the Province; ample emphasis was also given to the representatives of the cultural, productive and trade union world, as well as the associations of the various realities of the Polesine.
Prefect Clemente Di Nuzzo, who kicked off the celebration by awarding the honors of the Order of Merit of the Republic to this year’s objectives, at the end of the event he wanted to underline how the broad participation in the concert must constitute the path on which to continue, in a context of harmony such as that experienced during the performance of the evening’s music, the work municipality of the “Polesine system” aimed at guaranteeing prospects for growth, development and security of the territory.
They were awarded the honor of Knighthood, delivered by the Prefect together with the mayors of the respective municipalities: prof. Giovanni Boniolo, former president of the Accademia dei Concordi of Rovigo (Rovigo); the Marshal of the Carabinieri Paolo Antonio Carnemolla (Look at Veneta); Marco Emanuele, Head of the Personal Services Area of the Casa del Sorriso of Badia Polesine (Badia Polesine); Luciano Ghirardi, building contractor (Fiesso Umbertiano); Paolo Ghiotti, owner of the historic Trecenta company and former President of Ance Veneto and President of the Rovigo Building School (Trecenta). He was finally awarded the honor of Commander Emilio Milani, footwear entrepreneur from Villanova del Ghebbo, who had already received the relevant recognition last April 25th.
