From the Free Consortium, a project to reclaim provincial roads

The Extraordinary Commissioner of the Free Municipal Consortium of Ragusa, Patrizia Valenti, has signed an important act of direction aimed at the creation of an integrated system for managing and combating waste abandonment. This act represents a significant step to strengthen the Authority’s actions aimed at guaranteeing the protection and decorum of the provincial territory.

The phases of the project

The initiative includes an initial experimental phase whose conclusions will be crucial for the subsequent planning and implementation of strategies to combat waste abandonment. Below are the phases of the project.

Mapping, numbering and naming of polluted areas: identification of polluted areas. Creating a numbering and naming system for more efficient management.

Remediation of contaminated sites: cleaning and restoration of contaminated areas to eliminate abandoned waste.

Implementation of the video surveillance network: installation of video surveillance cameras to monitor critical areas and prevent waste abandonment.

Communication plan: creation of an awareness campaign to educate citizens on the importance of correct waste disposal and the consequences of abandonment.

Collaboration with municipalities

A key element of the project is a program agreement with the mayors of the Municipalities gathered in the Srr of Ragusa. This agreement aims to improve the effectiveness of the collection of special waste, such as inert materials, and domestic waste. Collaboration between the different municipal administrations is essential to guarantee a coordinated and integrated approach to waste management.
