Race 3 Fortitudo – Trapani, Antonini stays at home “to calm things down”

Valerio Antonini will not be at Pala Dozza for Game 3 of the A2 final between Fortitudo Bologna and Trapani Shark.

The Sicilian patron announced this through an official press release. The note also reads about a Chaseas well as threatsby some strong supporters against the president of Trapani.

Following the unjustified media outcry generated in the last few hours by some of the Fortitudo Bologna fans as well as the threats received by our management both at the end of the match on 3 June in Trapani, complete with a chase of President Antonini’s car inside of the private area of the PalaShark, both on various national social networks and to avoid the risk of ending up like Presidents like Maione and Bragaglio, President Antonini has decided to deprive himself of the possibility of following the team in Bologna on 7 June, in an attempt to calm the already too hot spirits.
Evidently, having agreed to reduce the price of tickets and having hosted the Bolognese management, players and fans in Trapani as best as possible did not help.

With the hope that the match will be played on the pitch and in the stands with sportsmanship and legality, we hope that our members will be treated with respect in the same way as the Fortitudo managers and players were treated in Trapani.

Happy final to everyone in the name of sport and respect for the rules.

It seems that Antonini, after some online meetings with the Bolognese Digos, had asked to sit next to the Fortitude managers. But this request would not have been accepted, according to BolognaBasketball, because it would have meant moving the mayor of the Emilian capital. So the president of Trapani chose not to be there, to protect his safety and to try to calm people down.
