Child hardship, the Lombardy Region still allocates one million euros

MILAN – An increase of one million euros to the financial allocation to combat the hardship of minors. This is what was established by the Lombardy Council on the proposal of the Councilor for Family, Social Solidarity, Disability and Equal Opportunities Elena Lucchini.

The overall allocation for the implementation of the territorial action plans thus comes to 3,698,000 euros. In this way, the ATS (recipients of the funds) will be able to further strengthen the actions already activated in synergy with the other subjects involved.

“The prevention of distress among minors is a priority for our Region – states the Family Councilor – which is why we are implementing a common path to define good practices for the full application in the school context of the rules aimed at prevention and combating of the phenomena linked to the different forms of addiction, bullying and cyberbullying and for the promotion of legality, with particular reference to strengthening collaboration between educational institutions, law enforcement agencies and the local health and social services system”.

According to the councilor, a co-responsible approach is therefore necessary on the part of the actors involved “to support the educational function of the School through the adoption of preventive and health promotion policies in the school environment and with the active involvement of all the stakeholders in the field to have early diagnoses and offer timely access to local services. We are putting in place territorial action plans directed by the ATS – continues the councilor – according to a co-planning perspective which is based on a network model involving all the bodies involved with particular attention to the Prefectures which act in close synergy with the ATS to encourage the participation of subjects and institutions present in the area in the roundtables and the identification of territorial priorities on the basis of which to outline integrated devices that will be set out within the Action Plan. These resources – concludes the councilor – are an investment to prevent the discomfort of children and stay alongside families. In fact, orientation and support interventions for the families of minors may also be activated through coordination with the interventions already activated by services present in the area (e.g. counseling centers) and by family centres”.
