Trentino confirmed itself as an ideal territory for two-wheel lovers, winning third place in the“Italian Green Roads 2024” with the Ciclovia dei Fiori.

This recognition, known as the “Italian cycle tourism Oscar”, rewards every year the best “green routes” of the territories that stand out for their attention to bicycles and slow tourism.

The awards ceremony was held in Lucca, Tuscanya, where the award was received by the deputy director of the Province’s cycle and pedestrian infrastructure office, Sergio Deromedis, and by the president of the Madonna di Campiglio Tourism Company, Tullio Serafini.

Deromedis has underlined the importance of the award, which recognizes the efforts made to develop the Ciclovia dei Fiori and the cycle-pedestrian infrastructure of Trentino in general. He reiterated the region’s commitment to strengthening the cycle-pedestrian network to improve integrated mobility for residents and tourists, bringing benefits to the local economy, health and safety, and quality of life.

The Ciclovia dei Fiori is a 57 km itinerary that unites Val Rendena and Valle del Chiese, which offers breathtaking scenery during flowering with over 600 species of flowers that paint the cycle path with suggestive colours.

The motivation: “The Jury is pleased to return to award a territory that never tires of working and enriching the offer available to tourists on foot and by bicycle with new content. The Green Road dei Fiori is a highly evocative new route, which we wish once again great success among cycling tourism and biodiversity enthusiasts.”

In addition to being a cycling tourism proposalthe cycle/pedestrian network of Trentino is used daily by residents to get around and by tourists to visit the various points of interest in the area.

This it is not the first award obtained by Trentino for its cycling tourism proposals; in fact, in nine editions of the competition, seven times a Trentino cycle path has been awarded the Green Road Awards.

The “Italian Green Road Awards” awarded Friuli Venezia Giulia with the Pedemontana cycle route and Calabria with the Val di Neto cycle path, highlighting the commitment of the Italian regions in promoting cycle tourism and enhancing their cycle routes.
