Disturbances ahead: there is a train strike. Day of trade union unrest in Trentino Alto-Adige, Umbria, Marche and Abruzzo. A national strike by railway maintenance workers has been called for today, Monday 3 June, which could create inconvenience for those traveling by train. This was proclaimed by the RFI (Italian railway network) staff in charge of railway traffic, followed by Fisi Trasporti, Cub Trasporti, Cobas Private Work and Usb Private Work. The abstention also affects several Italian cities (from Verona to Turin, up to Florence) with cancellations or changes in circulation. Trenitalia, strike today 3 June: time slots and trains guaranteed

As reported on the Trenitalia website, the strike on Monday 3 June in Abruzzo begins at 9.01am and ends at 5pm. In this time slot, trains may be subject to cancellations or changes due to the abstention of RFI staff responsible for railway traffic in the region. For regional trains, changes may occur both in Abruzzo and in neighboring regions. As Trenitalia further specifies, travelers who intend to cancel their trip will be able to request a refund up to the departure time of the booked train (for Intercity and Frecce) and up to 24 hours before (for regional trains). However, guaranteed time slots will be provided: for regional trains the service is guaranteed from 6 to 9 and from 6 to 9pm.

As in Abruzzo, also in Trieste, Turin, Bologna, Ancona, Florence and Foligno the strike on 3 June will last 8 hours: from 9.01am to 5pm. Union abstention could also create inconveniences to the movement of trains in Verona from 9pm on June 3rd until 8.59pm the following day, June 4th. Same thing in Trentino-Alto Adige, where trains may be canceled or changed from 9pm on 3 June until 4.59am on 4 June. Friuli-Venezia Giulia will also be involved in the strike, from 9.01am to 5pm.
