Day of trade union unrest in Trentino Alto-Adige, Umbria, Marche and Abruzzo. A national strike by railway maintenance workers has been called for today, Monday 3 June, which could create inconvenience for those traveling by train. This was proclaimed by the RFI staff in charge of railway traffic, followed by Fisi Trasporti, Cub Trasporti, Cobas Lavoroprivate and Usb Lavoroprivate. The abstention will also affect several Italian cities (from Verona to Turin, up to Florence) with cancellations or variations in circulation. Here are all the guaranteed timetables and trains for today.
The strike in Abruzzo
As reported on the Trenitalia website, the strike on Monday 3 June in Abruzzo will have starts at 9.01am and ends at 5pm. In this time slot, trains may be subject to cancellations or variations due to the abstention of the RFI personnel responsible for railway traffic in the region. For regional trains, changes may occur both in Abruzzo and in neighboring regions. As Trenitalia further specifies, travelers who intend to cancel their trip will be able to request a refund up to the departure time of the booked train (for Intercity and Frecce) and up to 24 hours before (for Regional trains). However, there will be some guarantee time slots: for regional trains the service will be guaranteed from 6am to 9am and from 6pm to 9pm.
The other regions
As in Abruzzo, also in Trieste, Turin, Bologna, Ancona, Florence and Foligno the strike on June 3rd will last 8 hours: from 9.01am to 5pm.
Union abstention could also create inconvenience to the movement of trains Verona from 9pm on June 3rd until 8.59pm of the following day, June 4th. Same thing in Trentino Alto Adigewhere trains may be canceled or changed from 9pm on June 3rd until 4.59am on June 4th.
