A passionate concert based on the best-known Sanremo hits and the identifying moment of delivery of the Civic honours they Commendations for Active Citizenship fill the 2nd of June in Rho
Rho – As per tradition, the city celebrates Republic Day with the concert of Santa Cecilia Musical Corps of Passirana, directed by the Maestro Luigi Bascapèwhich this year makes a historical excursus among the most beautiful songs of Sanremoperformed by the singers Lucy Caputo And Matteo Minerva.
To transform the evening into a real trip down memory lane Sergio Ranieriborn Sergio Santini, who recalled, between one song and another, the most salient moments of the song festival.
June 2nd in Rho
The location is less than traditional and, due to the inexorable bad weather, is not very central Piazza San Vittore but the always reliable auditorium in Via Meda. Commendations and honours
But not only music and light-heartedness in the Rhodes evening. In fact, June 2nd is also the moment in which the city delivers the Civic honours (13) and the Commendations for Active Citizenship (2).
These are awards given to “People, associations, institutions who have distinguished themselves in various fields and who have contributed to making the city better, to growing and getting to know the city of Rho, often even abroad”. The Civil Protection, entrepreneurs, actors, sports associations and also an economist at the OECD among the commended of 2024. A multitude varied in age and interests that expresses the unlimited potential of the city.
Below are the names of the winners and the reasons:
Civic honours
Giuliano Canal (to memory) – He dedicated his life to football and to the values of sport aimed at the good of young people. He was President of FCD Rhodense Calcio from 1996 to 2022, where he was called to relaunch the historic association and where he created the youth sector.
Giuseppe “Pino” Ali (in memory) – Always in the Sesamo ODV Association “Together for the disabled” of which he was President from 2006 to 2023, with his smile and his sunny personality he contributed to developing the inclusion of people with disabilities in society and in the world of sport.
Gioma Dialect Company – For his decades of activity in dialect theatre, which he carries out with commitment and great interpretative skills, enhancing the history and culture of the Rhodesian community.
Mario Fumagalli – Creative and energetic supporter of innovative associations and initiatives for the cultural and social development of the city and for preserving its history and memory with numerous publications, making his great expertise in the professional field available for the benefit of the community.
Daniele Montesano – For his ten-year volunteer activity at the Centro Insieme community in support of mothers and children with maintenance and support activities for the structure, promotion of fundraising and participation in initiatives and activities with guests of the community.
Maria Luisa Bigatti – For having carried out its clothing business in Rho for 66 years with professionalism and correctness, in the name of taste and elegance.
Baskin Polisportiva San Carlo – For having contributed to developing Baskin in Rho, the sport inspired by basketball that allows people with different abilities to play together, and for promoting inclusion through the creation of projects and activities dedicated to the good of our community.
Tiberio Bonetto and Elisa Mulazzani – For having dedicated themselves with professionalism and dedication for 57 years to the activity of the family business “Gastronomia Tiberio”, delighting the citizens of Rhodes with their culinary offerings.
Laura Pepe – For her long activity as a researcher and lecturer at a university in the field of Roman law at the University of Milan and other prestigious Italian and international universities and for her significant dissemination initiatives, including through radio and television media.
Alessandro Goglio – For his professional activity as an economist at the OECD in Paris as area head of third countries, Directorate of Employment, Labor and Social Affairs as well as other roles and sharing his experience with students through teaching in the academic field.
Italian Sailors Association Rho Group “Idalio Vaona” – To keep alive the attachment to the values and culture of the Navy, for active participation in municipal initiatives, national anniversaries and solidarity and support projects in case of need.
COR Civil Protection – For the constant presence of its volunteers over these twenty-seven years in numerous dangerous situations, hydrogeological emergencies and for their participation in projects to support the community.
Armadillo Theatre – For having become in these first 25 years among the liveliest theater realities in the area through constant commitment and creativity in the involvement of the community, especially the younger ones, and in approaching theater and culture in its various forms.
Commendations for Active Citizenship
Maestro Luigi Bascapè – For the constant commitment and the significant goals achieved recognized by the public with the Corpo Musicale Santa Cecilia di Passirana and for having made one’s professionalism available for society and having inspired it to achieve a common good.
Maestro Simone Clementi – For the constant commitment and the significant goals achieved recognized by the public with the Parish Citizen Musical Corps and for having made their professionalism available for society and having inspired it to achieve a common good.
