Mayor Carlo MAsci responds to the statements of mayoral candidate Domenico Pettinari, regarding the issue of the city’s image and in reference to the attacks received by the former five-star member:
“Domenico Pettinari challenges me, every other day, about the amount of road maintenance that we have promoted in this period in Pescara. Then, however, he contradicts himself and argues about the potholes. I want to reassure him, reminding him that we are carrying out a program of works that no one has ever carried out on our roads before. Getting everywhere at the same time is impossible, but we are proceeding throughout the territory to improve our city. Pettinari claims that people talk about Pescara ‘only for negative things’ but perhaps he didn’t realize that Pescara will host the G7, he didn’t realize that for the fourth year the city has obtained the Blue Flag, he didn’t notice the big events ( these days there is Cartoons on the bay) which also hosts our city on a sporting level.
He didn’t even notice that the pendulum road was opened in Villa del Fuoco, which eliminated the degradation, he didn’t see that we recently started works worth two million euros to redevelop the Parco della Speranza, and then
also to create a square where there were buildings at risk of collapse (which we demolished), in Via Lago di Borgiano. The sports facilities in the area, where our young people train, will also be renovated. I never deluded myself into making crime and crime disappear, God forbid, but we never stopped to redevelop the suburbs, including Villa del Fuoco, where the demolition of the Horseshoe marked a turning point. that Pettinari did not record the many police operations, arrests, complaints or even the evictions that were carried out over time, without stopping. He didn’t see the video surveillance cameras, placed everywhere, including those for reading license plates, for which those who really deal with security constantly thank us. “
The mayor added:
And Pettinari has always totally ignored all the entities that operate in the former school in via Giardino and the 15 associations that, together with the Municipality, will always keep the children’s park in via Tavo open, reopened by us. I wonder: where does the aspiring mayor live? On the moon? His commercials, which he has been repeating for five years now, first as Cinquestelle and now as Civic, clash with reality. The time has come to open our eyes, for Pettinari. Fortunately, the citizens have their eyes wide open and see everything that has been done, as has never happened before.”
