Neighbors Memorial. Primavera finishes third

It’s really holiday time. It’s easy to think of it yesterday in Genoa, with the football field overlooking the sea in the sports center in Bogliasco di Genova, the home of Sampdoria. Yet the Cesena Primavera did not allow themselves to be distracted by the ‘painted blue’, instead remaining more focused on the playing field, on which they had come to participate in the tournament dedicated to the memory of the former national coach Azeglio Vicini and organized by ‘Aiac, the Italian association of football team coaches.

Mister Nicola Campedelli’s team, involved in a triangular match with Vicenza, Brescia and Sampdoria, was however forced to settle for third place, after surrendering in a photo finish in the semi-final against Vicenza.

The Romagna players were quickly forced to chase, but found the equalizer thanks to Cavaliere. However, as the match was nearing the end of regular time, the insult arrived, since the Venetians managed to score the goal that made it 2-1 which relegated Cavalluccio to the ‘final’.

At this point, however, the Juventus team responded by showing pride and beating Sampdoria who in turn had lost 2-0 in the other semi-final played against Brescia. Cesena won third place by defeating the Ligurians 2-1 thanks to the goals scored by Cavaliere (therefore on target in both matches) and Toscu.

The event closed with the awards ceremony, which was also attended by Gianluca Vicini, Azeglio’s son.

Yesterday was the third edition of the quadrangular event, which last year had awarded the Cavalluccio.
