Bad weather, rain and abnormal cold a Rome on the June 2nd parade on the occasion of the Republic Day. Particularly unusual weather conditions for this time of year: the sky is dark, the temperature is stuck at +16°C in broad daylight and it rains heavily in the capital, as if we were in the middle of autumn.

The prime minister Giorgia Meloni he left the Altar of the Fatherland on foot to reach Via dei Fori Imperiali where he attended the traditional military parade for Republic Day. For her, a rain of choirs shouting ‘Georgia Georgia‘ accompanies her to the gallery where the authorities sit. Many citizens, many with children in tow, manage to approach her for a shot, asking for a selfie or a simple handshake.

An emotional and powerful Italian anthem sung by Claudio Baglioni, in a gray suit, in front of the presidential gallery. The applause before the rain that began to pound at the imperial forums preceded the Roman singer-songwriter’s greeting to the representatives of the institutions.

The inevitable historic Bersaglieri fanfare closed, together with the mounted platoons, the parade on June 2nd. Applause of joy as the feathered infantrymen raced along Via dei Fori Imperiali.
