Allianz Geas bids farewell to Caterina Dotto

After four seasons, Allianz Geas says goodbye to Caterina Dotto. Arriving in January 2021, Caterina won over the Rossoneri fans by bringing heart and intensity to the pitch every Sunday. A player of character and talent capable of being decisive in important moments: just a few days ago her 24 points dragged Geas to victory in game 1 of the quarter-finals in Campobasso. Cate arrived at the Rossoneri after a troubled period due to a knee injury and she was able to rediscover her certainties and make them available to the team with consistency, courage and passion.
“I thank all of Geas for these seasons spent together, for me they were special years of not only sporting growth, but also and above all human growth – says Caterina. Thinking back to my first year, I returned to playing after an injury that had kept me away from basketball for a long time and little by little I found confidence and trust on the court. I had exceptional teammates, competent medical, physiotherapy, athletic and technical staff at my side. The best thing for me is having had the opportunity to share emotions and experiences with people who I will carry in my heart. Furthermore, it was a pleasure to work with the youth sector and the staff associated with it. The passion that the coaches and trainers bring to the field was engaging and motivating. I also thank the girls, who have always managed to make me smile. Having to say goodbye to you makes me emotional, I hug you all.”
Caterina ended the 2023/2024 season with 7 points and 3 assists on average, shooting 40% from 3, but the numbers are only a small part of what she left at Geas: an example of the work ethic of those who seek daily personal improvement and the environment in which it finds itself. Not just a player, she also worked as an athletic trainer with the Rossoneri youth sector with great satisfaction. The whole club wishes her the best for her future.
