(ANSA) – PAVIA, JUNE 01 – He met her a month ago on a dating site and started sending her messages. Increasingly frequent text messages led the woman, a 35-year-old of Romanian nationality, to order the young priest from Pavia (not yet 40) to stop harassing her by telephone, also demanding a sum of 500 euros so as not to make the matter public. But after the priest gave her the sum, the 35-year-old returned to the office asking for more money, so as not to make the religious’s messages public, which also had no compromising content. At that point the priest decided to go to the police station, telling everything. The police advised him to pretend to accept the woman’s new financial request. The priest showed up at the new meeting with the money (the banknotes that had previously been “marked” by the police). When the money was delivered, some agents from the flying squad intervened and arrested the 35-year-old, accused of the crime of extortion. The woman was then released from prison: she will have to go to the police station five times a week with the obligation to sign. She will be tried on October 22nd. (HANDLE).
