Como’s limited traffic zone is tight on access. The municipal administration aims to review the timetables and therefore access to the historic center. Objective: to create an “intelligent traffic area” in which the needs of citizens, workers and tourists coexist.

Mayor Alessandro Rapinese spoke again about the project to review the city’s restricted traffic zone, explaining that checks are underway by the local police and specifically by commander Vincenzo Aiello. “The implementation of the technology necessary to automatically reprimand and sanction transgressors is being examined, so that, given the shortage, we do not have to use new forces – underlines the mayor – The legal aspects of my proposal are also being verified”.

In recent months it was once again the mayor who explained that “there are currently 26 time slots allowed within the ZTL of the Municipality of Como. The coverage as it is, leads to 24 hours of traffic.”

Again from the city administration, in recent days, the news had arrived of creating a limited traffic zone, only in the tourist season, on Viale Geno. The objective is to transform the road that runs along the lake into a restricted traffic zone because it is too dangerous at certain times, particularly in summer, so much so that a limitation on access is necessary. For Rapinese the limited traffic zone could start near Piazza De Gasperi or shortly before. Finally, the mayor indicates as a priority the resurfacing of the sidewalks with the interventions scheduled for autumn.
