The University of Naples Frederick II celebrates eight centuries since its foundation on 5 June 1224, with a busy calendar of events that brings together the Frederick community, its students and important personalities on the national scene who did not want to miss such a representative event. An event that began last November, with the presence of the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella that a Escape inaugurated the academic year and experienced first-hand a strong and decisive sign of the rebirth of a neighborhood which, thanks to the establishment of the university, has finally begun to show its industrious and healthy face.

It is difficult to enclose the story of 8 centuries of history in one year, especially if you reflect on those who were educated within these walls.

«Thirty generations, hundreds of thousands of students. And among these, we must not forget, three Presidents of the Republic, a sign that Federico II’s contribution to the country is indisputable.” A birthday that comes at a golden moment for the University which «has closed another profitable balance sheet, is growing in enrolments, in its presence in the area with new offices and which has 3,100 teachers, a body heavily filled with young researchers».
