The vintage market, Pimp My Vintage, at Molo Firenze

The beautiful season lights up on Sunday 26 May with the Pimp My Vintage Vintage & Art Market at Molo Firenze (Lungarno Colombo 27). Appointment from 11am to 8pm with deckchairs, sunsets, cocktails, a sea of clothes and accessories, bags and vinyls, jewelery and glasses, design and creative craftsmanship, emerging brands. An entire day discovering unique garments, new brands, collectibles and works by young artists.

Spring moves towards summer with an open-air Vintage Market to make the most of Sunday in company, with music and fresh drinks, surrounded by greenery, on the busiest Lungarno of the Florentine summer.

An event full of colors and fun, but also based on creativity and sustainability. Many ideas, conceived by brilliant minds and created by artisan hands with passion. With particular attention to the environment, which has always been the basis of the Vintage philosophy and craftsmanship, with creatives who start from the recovery of materials to create new beautiful garments and objects.

Many stands and creative and recycled projects, such as, for example, those of Prisca (Prisca Soulart) who personally follows the entire process of the garments she creates, from the choice of fabrics in India to the creation of the garment and its diffusion, are clothes ethically produced, clothes that have a soul. A super selected Vintage with a strongly Italian and Mediterranean taste is that of Velia Vintage Mediterraneo, which carefully selects unique garments with an elegant and refined style. Obviously there will be no shortage of vinyl records with a special selection of records that remind us that the best music does not age, rather it improves over time and continues to circulate like vinyl records which are once again in great demand. Or Barbara Vintage, who collects posters and advertisements from the early 1900s to the 1990s and transforms them into frameable works that tell us about the evolution of fashion, customs and language.

Super selected vintage (with unique pieces, from the elegance of the 50s to the street wear of the 90s), but also many specialized stands with clothes, objects, bags, posters, jewellery, art, vinyls and much more. But also the best artisan products, unique handmade pieces, with an eye to the environment: recycling and reuse techniques and materials, to experience the new season in an original and conscious way.

The event, born ten years ago with the idea of catalyzing innovative realities, quality productions, emerging creativity and fans of the genre, has transformed over time into a sort of small, large revolutionary act that overturns the concepts of fast fashion and planned obsolescence, giving rise to a diametrically opposed proposal. A special place where you can discover unique garments rich in history, quality products created to last, iconic clothes and timeless elegance, capable of resisting decades and passing fashions, but also artisanal creations made with hands and with the heart . An event where everything is unique and unrepeatable, from the carefully selected garments to the stands, up to the Market formula itself, a pop-up which from morning to evening brings a radical transformation to the spaces that host it, filling them with people and colours, a lively and exciting bazaar that appears and disappears in the space of a single day.

The Market thus becomes the meeting place par excellence for collectors, vintage lovers, experts but also simple enthusiasts.

The spring edition of the event, in addition to the vintage and crafts market exhibition, will enrich its offer with creative recycling stands, original works by artists and more quality street food gastronomic spaces where you can drink and eat throughout the event.

“The future is vintage”, the motto of Pimp My Vintage, is an invitation to look to the past to project ourselves into the future. Vintage is always in fashion and the return to the past is more than ever a “return to the future”. Above all because it means returning to timeless beauty, to the quality of materials, to handmade, to a garment that is born to last. Sustainability, therefore, and new value for young artisans, with revisited garments that are reborn thanks to creative minds and hands.

Entry to the event is free and open.
