The secretariat of Siap police union participated in the inauguration of the Albero dei Tutti exhibition, at the Aragonese castle of Taranto.
The Ionian general secretary, Pasquale Antonazzo expressed full satisfaction with the event promoted by the Falcone Foundation and strongly supported by the police commissioner Massimo Gambino and by the Interregional Marittima Sud Commander, Team Admiral, Vincenzo Montanaro. “An important and significant event today, a sculptural work “that of the Tree of All”, symbol and testimony of the fight against the mafia” said Antonazzo.
On this occasion, the Siap manager added that the organization he represents, for many years, both at a central and peripheral level, has been organizing socio-cultural events together with various associations and schools of all levels and levels, in order to spread themes on the culture of legality, of citizenship rights, aimed at raising awareness of the historical-institutional and social value of the fight against the mafia. He also reports that today the issue of security has become increasingly complex and urgent and, therefore, must be addressed with greater determination and effective measures. It is necessary for the Politics to concretely demonstrate its desire to invest “in safety” through the allocation of more resources for investigations, both in men and technologies. The staff of the State Police and other police forces are suffering throughout the national territory. Suffice it to remember that the investigative apparatus, for over twenty years, has seen the retirement of -personnel- without replacement with the same number leaving, thus limiting the operational effectiveness which now relies on policemen who, in general , has an average age approaching 50 years. Despite everything, it is necessary not to forget what the common objective must be: “The fight against the mafia”.
