Cassandre Beaugrand made a loud statement in the elite women’s race of the World Triathlon Series which took place in Cagliari. In the splendid setting of the Poetto beach, the Frenchwoman won a hard-fought race in a sprint in which, unfortunately, the hosts did not shine. Anyway with this test Italy officially obtains the third women’s pass for the Paris 2024 Games. There will therefore be 5 in total the Azzurri involved under the Five Circles.

Cassandre Beaugrand won the race (over Olympic distance) with a time of 1:47.25 with a narrow margin of just 3 seconds over the German Lisa Tertschwhile the British completes the Cagliari podium Beth Potter at 6. Fourth position for the Frenchwoman Emma Lombardi with a gap of just 7 seconds from her compatriot, fifth for the Luxembourger Jeanne Lehair at 26 seconds, while the British woman is sixth Georgia Taylor-Brown at 38.

In seventh place another Briton, Sophie Coldwell at 41 seconds, therefore the representative of Bermuda eighth, Flora Duffy, at 43, therefore ninth position for the German Nina Eim at 48, while the British completes the top 10 Kate Waugh at 54, ahead of the two Americans Taylor Knibb (+1:01) e Katie Zaferes (+1:08).

The Italians. The first of the blues stops in thirteenth position, Verena Steinhauser at 1:09, then 18a Bianca Seregni at 1:58. He did not finish his test, however, Alice Betto (she stopped after the swimming part). Same goes for Ilaria Zane which concluded after the bike section.
