“In recent months the Democratic Party has intervened, both with the council group and with the city management with Paolo Caggiano and with the Young Democrats, on the situation of the bus terminal in Piazzale Venanzio Vari, highlighting the critical situation relating to the safety of users and of the professionals who use the area out of necessity. A fact on which the trade unions had also intervened in recent weeks. “We – continues the note – extend our closeness to the girl, wishing her a speedy recovery, but we cannot fail to reiterate that incidents of this kind, given the state of the art, are unfortunately just around the corner. The terminal, for which as we know the municipal administration has other projects on which we have already expressed ourselves critically, has been completely abandoned: the asphalt full of potholes and unevenness, the horizontal and vertical signs practically absent and the uncontrolled and undisturbed by cars represent a constant danger for users and workers.
Safety must be guaranteed to citizens and commuters who use the area every day, as well as to bus drivers: we cannot wait for the terminal to be moved and in the meantime abandon thousands of people to their fate.
