Catanzaro, legality and environmental education: students and magistrates compared

“Legality, environmental education and ecological awareness” was the theme of the conference which was held on Monday 20 May 2024 in the enchanting setting of the cloister of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, opened exceptionally for the first time to a school, which was attended by a representative of students from the “De Nobili” IIS, the “Scalfaro” industrial institute and the “Vittorio Emanuele” agricultural institute. The initiative was organized by the “De Nobili” institute directed by the DS Angelo Gagliardi with the collaboration of the association “La Voce della Legalità”, of the ANM (National Association of Magistrates) and supported by the Regional Coordination of Student Councils (in the presence of the student Martina Vigliarolorepresentative of the De Nobili Institute in the provincial student council) and by the USR representative for Calabria, prof. Franca Falduto. An exceptional audience, moderated by the journalist of Southern Gazette, Giuseppe Mercurioparticipated in the event: the acting prosecutor of the Republic of Catanzaro, Vincenzo Capomollathe deputy prosecutors Silvia Peru, Francesca Ravizza And Corrado Cubellottithe judge of the Court of Assizes of Catanzaro Pietro Agosteo and the colleague of the Court of Catanzaro as well as president of the Executive Council of the ANM, John Strangisin addition to the president of “La Voce della Legalità”, Giulia Anna Pucci, and the coordinator of the association as well as criminal lawyer of the Catanzaro court and professor of criminal law, Simone Rizzuto.
The lawyer and all the magistrates spoke and answered the students’ many questions on environmental issues, not only drawing a clear picture of the sector regulations but also making the students reflect on the correct behavior to safeguard the environment. Finally, applause for the paintings created by the students of the pictorial branch of the Artistic High School which were exhibited in the cloister.
