FLORENCE – “Sparse Plus”, the project financed by the Creative Europe programme, dedicated to the promotion of professional live entertainment in the European rural areas.

According to statistics, 30% of the European population lives in rural areas that have fewer opportunities for cultural access and enjoyment, a lack that inevitably reverberates in the local social fabric in terms of quality, cultural welfare and quantity. The ‘rural touring’ system is based on the idea of offering rural and semi-rural communities the use of shows to allow communities to meet and socialize in spaces that are often not created to host live events and above all to come into contact with quality artistic experiences often only available in larger and more distant cities. A characteristic element of the project is the identification of “local promoters” to encourage the organization of cultural events in the reference community.

The “Marche” section of the festival starts on May 25th, while in Tuscany the festival arrives in July with Little Red Riding Hood in the woods, an immersive show in a real forest for adults and children from 4 years old by Zaches Theatre, direction and dramaturgy by Luana Gramegna, live music and soundscape by Cristina Petitti (viola), Enrica Zampetti (percussion) on stage on 27 July in Reggello (FI – Parco delle Lastre) and on 21 September in Bagnone (MS – location to be defined). It continues on 28 September in the historic center of Bibbiena (AR) and on 27 October in the Certosa di Pontignano di Castelnuovo Berardenga (SI) with A[1]BIT, itinerant dance work for single spectators signed by Lara Guidetti for Sanpapié. On 11 October the festival stops at the Teatro dei Coraggiosi in Pomarance for Nell’occhio del Labirinto: apologia by Enzo Tortora, written and directed by Chicco Dossi and Simone Tudda for Teatro della Cooperativa.
