The newborn was admitted to pediatric intensive care, intubated and subjected to drainage and transfusions. On the night between 14 and 15 May he was then transferred to the Monaldi hospital in Naples, a specialized center for prenatal cardiology, where, however, the doctors ruled out cardiac problems, confirming however the extreme seriousness of the situation.
