«Culture must become the protagonist again in Civitavecchia»

CIVITAVECCHIA – «Culture must become the protagonist again in Civitavecchia. With this aim we have created a series of ambitious but at the same time concrete proposals, which aim to enhance the artistic and cultural heritage of the city”. This was underlined by the centre-right mayoral candidate Massimiliano Grasso.

«Ours is a territory rich in history to be discovered and rediscovered both for citizens and for the many tourists who choose us every year – he added – first of all sites of great value such as the Baths of Trajan, Aquae Tauri, the necropolis will be redeveloped and promoted Etruscan della Scaglia and the Villa Pulcherrima, ancient Roman villa of the emperor Trajan. A central role will then be covered by the figure of Guglielmo Marconi, the radio communications genius who had a deep connection with the territory. The idea is to establish a thematic museum dedicated to him which will celebrate his figure and his influence on the development of the city. The program places local artists at the centre, recognizing their fundamental role in defining the cultural identity of Civitavecchia. Various actions will therefore be implemented to support and enhance them: promotion, support for the creation of local brands and cultural and artistic events. The ambitious objective, to be achieved also thanks to culture – concluded Grasso – is to transform Civitavecchia into a cultural center of reference, capable of attracting visitors from all over Italy and Europe. The city will become a place where creativity, art and tradition meet to create engaging experiences.”
