With the arrival of the unique and scathing voice of Noemi and the Australian video-artist and musician Andrew Quinn, the fourth edition of the “City in notes” exhibition kicks off today in Cuneo, Wednesday 22 May. The music of places”: over 30 events will involve the public in the most evocative places of the city, until Monday 27 May.

Tomorrow, Thursday 23 May, at the Toselli Theatre, at 9pm, the multifaceted artist Nada, one of the most iconic female voices in Italian music, presents “Nada Duo”, a guitar reinterpretation of some musical works created in collaboration with Avion Travel. She accompanied by the talented guitarist of the Sienese jazz-blues school Andrea Mucciarelli. In this particular concert, Nada resumes what was the “Nada Trio” – a project born in 1994 with the collaboration of Fausto Mesolella and Ferruccio Spinetti, guitar and double bass of Avion Travel – which later resulted in a record and the album “Nada Trio: La Pose”. The show includes songs such as “Il porto di Livorno” (by Piero Ciampi), the popular “Ma chefreddo fa”, great successes such as “Amorespera”, “Ti stringrò” and classics of the popular tradition such as “Maremma”, up to the today’s songs “Luna in Piena” and “Without a reason”. Tickets available on ticket.it or at the Theater box office one hour before the start of the concert, subject to availability.

The Nada concert will be opened by the students of the Pop and Jazz courses of the GF Ghedini Conservatory of Cuneo, coordinated by Maestro Paolo Franciscone: a tribute to Italian authorial music through the interpretation of songs by great contemporary singer-songwriters.

During the days of the festival, the Monumental Complex of San Francesco will become the place for a micro-review in the general program entitled EFFETTO NOT(T)E for three evocative nocturnal concerts, unique in their kind, which will lead spectators on a sound journey to discover peoples and distant cultures.

It starts tomorrow, Thursday 23 May, at 11pm, with the polyphonist and composer Edmondo Romano. Bearer of experimental, folk, ethnic, world, minimalist and out of the ordinary musical research, Romano perfects the use of instruments by studying them in their natural different cultures and expressions. On stage is a concert that guides the spectator on a journey into the world of traditional music, through the sound of different wind instruments from Turkey, Norway, Ireland, Greece, Israel, Italy, France, Spain, India and contemporary musical influences. Free entry while places last. Reservation recommended onfondazioneartea.org

Conceived and promoted by the Artea Foundation with the Municipality of Cuneo under the artistic direction of Claudio Carboni assisted by Carlo Maver, the exhibition “City in notes. Music in places” involves local musical schools and institutions (Ghedini Conservatory of Cuneo, Academia Montis Regalis, Scuola di Alto Perfectionazione Musicale di Saluzzo, IIS Bianchi – Virginio, Insieme Musica, Progetto Har and Voice Art Academy) and the Bartolomeo Bruni Symphony Orchestra and the City of Cuneo Choral Society. For the first time, the event goes to conquer new city green spaces with the Note di Verde project created in collaboration with Società Orticola del Piemonte – Festival del Verde: an itinerary in 15 stages dedicated to the discovery of public gardens, parks and courtyards and private individuals, of the City of Cuneo.
