ANGET celebrates the 150th anniversary of the birth of Guglielmo Marconi in Trani
150 years have passed since the birth of one of the greatest inventors in modern history, who, thanks to the wireless telegraph, changed our way of communicating forever. Guglielmo Marconi was responsible for the development of an effective remote telecommunications system via radio waves, namely wireless telegraphy or radiotelegraph, which had considerable diffusion, whose evolution led to the development of radio and television and in general of all modern systems and radiocommunication methods using wireless communications, and which earned him the Nobel Prize for Physics in 1909.

Among the events planned to commemorate the 150th anniversary, Italy has planned a series of events and exhibitions. An exhibition dedicated to Marconi entitled “Spatia devinco disiunta coniugo” (it could in fact be translated as “I overcome distances and unite those who are separated) will be held in Trani from 24 to 28 May 2024 organized by Cav. Leonardo Leonetti, Delegate of ANGET Puglia and Basilicata and Colonel Mauro La Stella President of ANGET Monte Caccia. The event which will be held in the municipal villa Piazza Plebiscito will be inaugurated by the Mayor of Trani Avv. Amedeo Bottaro.

These initiatives not only celebrate Marconi’s life and achievements, but also aim to inspire new generations to pursue research and innovation. The 150th anniversary of Guglielmo Marconi’s birth is therefore not only a celebration of a great inventor, but also a time to reflect on how his discoveries continue to influence our daily lives. His legacy lives on in the infinite possibilities of modern communications.

The invitation is addressed to all citizens, entry is free.
