They see Olona once again in the sights of criminals specializing in mirror scam. This morning the local police stopped one of them who was particularly determined to carry out the robbery in the town.
Before he attempted the scam for the first time in via 1° Maggiobut the potential victim didn’t fall for it: at the request of 100 euros due to the alleged damage to the mirror, the woman refused and threatened to call the local police, thus making the scammer go away. Who did not give up after moving away from the municipal boundaries he retraced his steps to try again. In the meantime, however, the lady had alerted the local police officers, describing the car that was seen returning to the town center from the images of the “gaps”, the cameras that record all vehicles entering and exiting the main streets of Vedano.
The man upon the arrival of the officers he tried to hide by driving the car into a courtyard near the station, since the lowered level crossing blocked his only escape route. When he tried to leave he was stopped by the officers, who they identified him and removed him from the country.
This is a 60-year-old of Roma origin, for whom the local police will ask the Police Headquarters for the exit permit – and therefore the ban on entry to Vedano Olona – for a period of three years.
