Airports 2030: Puglia’s airports enter with the four airports of Bari, Brindisi, Foggia, Taranto and the UrbanV company – Economy and Finance

(Teleborsa) – AIRPORTS 2030, which in just a few years has consolidated itself as one of the main stakeholders of reference in the Italian aviation sector, continues to grow and announces its entry into the Association of Puglia Airport Network composed of the ports of Bari, Toasts, Foggia And Taranto Grottaglie managed by Puglia airports and of UrbanVthe company that deals with sustainable urban air mobility founded by Aeroporti di Roma, Gruppo SAVE, Bologna Airport and Aéroports de la Côte d’Azur.

With these inputs, AIRPORTS 2030 now includes 10 national airportsof which 2 are intercontinental, distributed throughout the Italian territory, including the capital’s airport system, with Fiumicino and Ciampino, the North-East airport hub with Venice, Verona, Brescia and Treviso, and the Apulian airport network with Bari, Brindisi , Foggia and Taranto.

The new memberships they represent a significant step towards the mission of AIRPORTS 2030, the innovative hub dedicated to the airport sector open to system stakeholders, start-ups and national and international innovative platforms to further consolidate the commitment to driving change towards a greener future and technologically advanced. The four airports in Puglia, together with UrbanV, guarantee extensive experience and a strong commitment to sustainable practices, technological innovation and improving the passenger experience.

According to AIRPORTS 2030, in fact, the airports of the future must have a vision of intermodal transport with an approach that favors sustainability And innovation. The use of renewable energy and the development of sustainable aviation fuels must therefore be implemented. It is necessary to move the airport system towards an ever-increasing modality digital which allows passengers and airlines to use new technologies effectively and safely, including through the development of advanced air mobility and vertiports.

The President of AIRPORTS 2030, Alfonso Celottowelcomed the new members enthusiastically, declaring: “we are extremely pleased to welcome Aeroporti di Puglia and UrbanV to our association. Their entry represents recognition of the work done so far and an encouragement to continue on the path of innovation and of sustainability. We are convinced that the collaboration between these important players in the airport sector will lead to significant progress in terms of operational efficiency and reduction of environmental impact. Furthermore, the strengthening of AIRPORTS 2030 which, today, thanks to the new Statute, is the first Italian Association to represent airport, spaceport and vertiport managers, offers us the possibility of exploring new dimensions of mobility, of developing synergies and of integrating infrastructures airports with the transport solutions of the future”.

“This achievement – declared the president of Aeroporti di Puglia, Antonio Maria Vasile – represents not only the recognition of our commitment to innovation and sustainability, but also a confirmation that our vision of the future is shared by the main players in the sector. Aeroporti di Puglia, a company controlled by the Puglia Region and the only Italian airport network pursuant to the European directive, wants to bring its idea of what the future of air transport will be to the association, freeing it from a vision destined to no longer be current with respect to new transport needs. Our aim is to be a concrete commitment towards the adoption of the most advanced technologies in terms of sustainability and digitalisation which will have a strong impact on the ‘passenger experience’ as key enabling factors for positioning along the value chain and reinventing airport business models . The technological development of suborbital flights sees the Grottaglie Spaceport as a strategic infrastructure for Italy’s autonomous access to space, as well as the development of the last mile aviation market, in terms of the evolution of the Regional Network of second Vertiport level. Aeroporti di Puglia, as an airport manager operating in the South, captures the peculiarities of the territory and acts as an implementer of accessibility development policies in the peripheral areas of the country attracting investments also with a view to the single SEZ (Special Economic Zone). In this journey towards the future of air transport we operate in great harmony and unity of purpose with ENAC, Enav and all the stakeholders in the sector”.

“We are very proud – he commented Carlo Tursi, CEO of UrbanV – to join AIRPORTS 2030. This membership represents for us an important opportunity to collaborate with other players in the Italian airport sector and a great opportunity to share our experience in the field of sustainable urban air mobility. The recent announcement by ENAC on the entry into force of the first Regulation on vertical take-off and landing aircraft represents a unique opportunity for our country to position itself as a leader in sustainable and innovative mobility. As UrbanV we welcome this challenge and our entry into AIRPORTS 2030 is confirmation of this: together, we can work to promote innovative solutions that reduce environmental impact and improve the passenger experience.”
