Summer Piano Review 2024 edition

The Piano School of the Rossini Conservatory of Pesaro announces the start of the Summer Piano Review 2024 edition, to be held from June 22nd to July 30th at the prestigious Palazzo Montani Antaldi, kindly granted by the Cassa di Risparmio di Pesaro Foundation. Curated by teachers Andrea Turini and Michele Sampaolesi, the event represents an extraordinary opportunity for the young and talented pianists of the Conservatory to perform in front of the Pesaro public and the numerous tourists visiting the Italian Capital of Culture 2024.
The calendar predicts two appointments in June (Saturday 22nd and Friday 28th)to continue in the weeks of July (Friday 5th, Friday 12th, Saturday 20th, Friday 26th) until the last concert of Tuesday 30 July.
The students of the Conservatory will divide the afternoon music programs mostly dedicated to the great repertoire of the classical tradition from JS Bach to S. Prokofiev, passing through M. Clementi, L. van Beethoven, F. Chopin, F. Liszt and S. . Rachmaninov, but also with rare proposals, such as the unknown Chrysanthemums by D. Alaleona (5 July), Ludus tonalis by P. Hindemith (July 20), i Three Preludes for Piano by G. Gershwin (July 26).

The inaugural concert of Saturday 22 June (6.30 pm) will see as protagonists Nicholas San Martin, which in the first part will perform the Fantasia quasi Sonata “After a lecture by Dante” by F. Liszt, e Giuseppe Ottaviani, which will propose pieces by different authors: the Toccata in C minor by JS Bach, the Sonata in D major op. 10 no. 3 by L. van Beethoven, the Etude op. 25 no. 4 by F. Chopin, Nuages ​​Gris and Bagatelle sans tonalité by F. Liszt.

The Summer Piano Review is still a young initiative, born only in 2021, however already widely followed and appreciated by music lovers. If on the one hand this piano event is a further contribution from the Conservatory to the city, which offers musical moments of high artistic quality with the aim of bringing more and more people closer to classical music, on the other it represents a way to enhance the excellence emerging in the courses academics of the Pesaro Institute and also a fundamental opportunity for the training of young talents, who thanks to this initiative practice contact with the public and at the same time make themselves known and appreciated, exhibiting their technical and interpretative qualities.
