Yesterday, Thursday 20 June, a memorandum of understanding on the topic of prevention was signed between the ASL Roma 5, the Municipality of Guidonia Montecelio and the associations Lions Club Roma Parco Nomentum, Volunteer for you ODV, AVVIS (Association of Volunteers Villalba Social Initiatives ), AIRTE (Italian Association of Emergency Traumatology Resuscitation) and the Hundred Parts of the Heart.
According to a press release from the local health authority, the document – lasting three years – commits all parties involved to promoting healthy lifestyles in the family and school environment, to disseminating knowledge on health-related risk factors, to working to support policies and actions that the most liveable cities, from the point of view of health and mobility, to increase collaboration between health professionals and local assistance services and to reduce the prevalence of elderly citizens in a frail condition.
“These goals – explain from the local health authority of Tivoli – are fully included in the activity plan of the ASL Roma 5 which, through its screening campaigns (oncology, diabetes, hypertension, HCV, HPV and infectious diseases), has long been trying to raise awareness among its citizens about the behaviors and characteristics genetics that increase the risk of contracting certain diseases, also providing personalized care and management plans.
The aims established by this protocol will be pursued thanks to the creation of information campaigns, dedicated awareness days and other initiatives aimed at citizens to increase awareness on the topic of prevention and the adoption of healthy lifestyles.
A work, therefore, of close collaboration between ASL, Municipality and Associations that aims to improve the health and quality of life of its territory”.
