Salis case, Ilaria’s lawyer: ‘It could come out next Thursday’

Ilaria Salis will probably be able to leave prison next Thursday. This is what the Hungarian lawyer of the Milanese activist detained in the Gyorskocsi Utca prison in Budapest claims. The lawyer, who assists her in Hungary, explained that he had been informed by her father Roberto that the sum required for the bail had been sent from an Italian bank. Since the Hungarian banks do not work until next Tuesday for Pentecost, the transfer will arrive – he explained – to the account of his law firm on Tuesday or Wednesday. According to the law, only the defender can make the payment into the account of the Court which, upon receipt of the sum, immediately orders the execution of precautionary custody under house arrest.

The father: “Fear for Ilaria’s safety”

In the morning, the appeal to the press from Ilaria’s father, Roberto Salis, had arrived: “We ask all journalists not to show up in front of the prison where Ilaria is being held because there are strong fears for her safety and therefore, when she comes out, she will go to her home in a confidential manner. We ask journalists – continued the father of the activist who will be released next week after she has been granted house arrest – who have always been sensitive and understanding to understand the situation and to guarantee the safety of Ilaria and the people who are close to her.”
