TERNI – The prefect of Terni, Giovanni Bruno, has ordered a ban on the sale to residents of Puglia of tickets for the Ternana-Bari match on Thursday 23 May which will be played at the “Liberati” stadium in Terni, the return match of the playout final Serie B 2023/2024.
The Analysis Committee for the safety of sporting events, with resolution number 19 of 13 May 2024 – explains the Prefecture – has in fact highlighted to the Provincial Public Safety Authority of Terni that there is a concrete danger of disturbances to order and safety public, taking into account the “serious incidents” that occurred during the match on 19 March 2023 played in Terni.
Before the start of that match there had been riots among the fans following an attempt by supporters from Bari to set fire to a banner stolen from the Terni ultras. The clashes continued at the end of the race and on that occasion some law enforcement workers were also injured.
These episodes – explains the Prefecture – have exacerbated the climate of already strong rivalry between the fans, making it necessary, for subsequent matches, to adopt rigorous measures aimed at prohibiting the presence of visiting fans.
