A journey desired, awaited and then completed. Those celebrations of the landing in Normandy experienced with one of his sons, a few days ago. The desire to share with him a memory to carry with him throughout his life. That life, which was cruelly interrupted on the asphalt of via Massa Avenza, a few steps from the Rossi Leauto dealership. A mocking destiny: joy, serenity until a few seconds before… then silence. A heartbreaking, inexplicable pain, a strangled scream, the desire not to believe so as not to go through the hell of pain. His family, his partner Sabrina, his friends, the members of Apuania bikers, are struck by these contrasting emotions in an endless glimpse of lacerating reality.
Alessandro Giandomenici is no longer here. He will remain only in the memories of his colleagues, the state police, just as he will be kept in the hearts of the members of the bikers’ association, who were waiting for him for an aperitif together. “I’m coming” he had written to his friends on two wheels a quarter of an hour before the fatal crash. What remains is the nostalgia of that 53-year-old father of two children, with a sunny character, available to everyone, companion on great journeys with the prestigious Harley Davidson, with which Giandomenici from Massa was deeply in love.
The province mourns a servant of the State: his commitment on the cars in Carrara as assistant chief coordinator had always been appreciated by everyone. Municipal police officers are now investigating the cold dynamics of that dramatic accident. According to a first summary reconstruction, Giandomenici, on Thursday evening around 7pm, after the collision with a small car with two men and a woman on board, appears to have immediately lost consciousness. The impact was tremendous. The rescue efforts to transport him to Noa were desperate. The 53-year-old died in hospital. The body is now available to the judicial authorities for possible autopsy examination.
The Apuan community is destroyed. “You will always remain in our hearts. His will to live will be remembered by all of us”, says Giacomo Timbro of the Apuania bikers. “The association of the fishermen of the Forte dei Marmi pier and in particular the members of the Marina di Massa pier, share the pain of the family of our dear friend Alessandro. Our deepest condolences to all Giandomenici’s acquaintances” they write fishing friends.
