PORDENONE – Fear for two men who late yesterday evening, Thursday 16 May, remained stranded on an islet formed between the Meduna and Cellina streams near Domanins in San Giorgio della Richinvelda. The firefighters intervened immediately, working from 8pm to midnight to bring the two men to safety.

The rescue

Given that the bed of the river, due to the heavy rains, at that point was about 500 meters wide on both sides and the tumultuous water did not allow a safe approach, the Fire Brigade operations room in coordination with the Prefecture of Pordenone the flight department of the 5th aviation regiment of the Rigel army of Casarsa has been activated.
