The regional project against gambling among minors, aimed at adults and citizens, concludes in Udine with an exceptional speaker. In fact, it will be Enrico Galiano, a teacher from Pordenone and writer of numerous best sellers, who will close with his speech the on-demand training course for teachers which is part of the “You can S.com.Mettere” project. The project was conceived by the social cooperative Il Piccolo Principe di Casarsa della Delizia in co-planning with the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region and with the Departments of Addiction and Mental Health of the three healthcare companies Asfo, Asufc and Asugi and has the objective of raise awareness of the issue of gambling, to recognize it and distinguish it from “healthy” gambling and to prevent and combat risky behavior among minors.
After the on-demand lessons and a series of meetings open to all and offered throughout the regional territory, the final conference will be held on Friday 31 May from 3pm to 6.30pm at the Palazzo di Toppo Wassermann of the University of Udine in Via Gemona in Udine of training for teachers of secondary schools in Friuli Venezia Giulia, with the possibility of participating in three workshops (subject to registration) and listening to Galiano’s final speech.
“The conference, open not only to teachers but to all those who have an educational relationship with children, aims to be an opportunity to dialogue and interact with various professionals on the subject of adolescent development. – explains Elisa Paiero, head of the Youth Service of the Casarsese social cooperative – This on-demand training course started in December 2023, involving over 150 teachers from Friuli Venezia Giulia from 35 secondary schools. We are happy to have reached the end of this journey and to be able to propose a final conference that will allow us to discuss such an important and current issue as gambling. It will be a valuable event, full of insights.”
After registering those present and handing over the materials, the event will start at 3pm with an overview of the gambling behavior prevention projects aimed at young people in the regional territory by the educators of the Il Piccolo Principe cooperative. At 3.45pm a workshop with the trainers of the on-demand training to discuss and interact on the following topics. Three topics will be addressed in the workshops (registration required): “The evolutionary tasks of “Generation Z” – the challenges of growth and protective factors to combat risky behavior” with Paola Cosolo Marangon, “Play and brain development teenager. Healthy gaming in contrast to gambling with particular attention to related neurological processes” with Alan Mattiassi, “Education in wonder and emotions. Emotions, curiosity and listening in educational relationships” with Marco Anzovino.
After the coffee break, at 5.15pm the plenary workshops will be returned and at 5.30pm the final speech “At the school of love, courage and freedom: the lesson of the children” with Enrico Galiano.
“Our Service – explained Elisa Paiero – during the year was committed to implementing initiatives to combat gambling disorder throughout the regional territory. In the month of June, the “L’altra storia del gioco” workshops on experience and knowledge of gaming and online dynamics will also end, to recognize and distinguish gambling behaviour, with the creation of three video spots, created from groups of young people from Pordenone, Udine and Monfalcone.
Not only that, since 2014 the cooperative has been managing awareness projects regarding the problems linked to behavior resulting from gambling, both in high schools with validated courses aimed at children and teachers, and in the territory, with awareness actions for adults and for children belonging to associations or groups or attending youth centres”.
